Walter Bitner

A multi-instrumentalist and singer, he is also a teacher, composer/arranger, and conductor conversant with a wide variety of musical styles and traditions. He has performed or collaborated with a diverse array of musicians in a teaching and performing career that spans three decades. Walter is Director of Education & Community Engagement for the Richmond Symphony.

Walter’s writing has been published by the National Association for Music Education, Teaching With OrffSchool Band & Orchestra magazine, the Lute Society of America, and his column Off The Podium is featured in Choral Director magazine. He speaks regularly about music education at regional and national conferences.
